Stay sober or Move On: Police

29/11/2007 10:01:00 PM.  |
Police will start cracking down on violent, drunken behaviour with new "Move On" orders being introduced into State Parliament.

Officers will be able to split up groups of three or more people loitering in public places if they're considered a risk to each other or the people around them.

Police Minister David Campbell says they'll only be allowed back when they're sober.

“Police can direct them to leave the area and not to return to that area for six hours.

“So I think it’s a good preventative measure and against an election commitment which the Government is implementing and keeping.”
