A 14-year-old British girl says she doesn't care whether she gets a criminal record after staging a protest against whaling at the Japanese Embassy in London.

Sophie Wyness says having a criminal record isn't a big price to pay when the whales are going through so much worse.

She and her father Martin were arrested after tying themselves to a railing inside the embassy with cable ties.

The father and daughter were later released after being charged with criminal trespass and are due to appear before a London court on February 6.

There are higher moral and ethical rules than the laws made by countries. What right has any person to kill whales? They are not "livestock" and they are not in our domain. They cannot be killed humanely and they are just victims of human greed and violence. These protesters have courage and the trivial trespass laws they have broken illustrate this.
