High profile media personality and indigenous Australian Ray Martin was just another face in the crowd at Parliament House in Canberra today, meeting with his Aboriginal brothers and sisters.

The former Channel Nine journalist described the day as a momentous occasion, comparing Kevin Rudd's speech to that of Former Prime Minister Paul Keating's "Redfern speech".

Mr Martin also described Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson's speech as accurate, but inappropriate for a day of positives, that was ultimately "Black Fella's Day."

That's the nicest thing you could say about Nelson's speech. The thing to remember is Nelson was representing the Party, he is not actually a real leader, just a stand in until the figure out where to get a real leader from. The only way to get rid of the appalling attitude displayed today by Half+1 Nelson is to keep the Libs out of office.
