Following a string of violent incidents, trouble plagued ex AFL star Wayne Carey and his girlfriend mark yet another court date in the diary after the law caught up with the wannabe TV star's liberal attitude towards parking restrictions.
It also emerged today that a security guard had to intervene after Carey allegedly smashed a champagne bottle over his own head during a fight with Kate Neilson at New York's exclusive W Hotel in October 2006.
Security guard Kyle Banks said he saw Carey "shake and smack" Neilson before whacking himself with the bottle.
"I don't understand why he hit his own self with the bottle," Banks told Channel Nine. "It didn't make any sense to me, but in any event it calmed him down because he was semi-conscious."
The couple is still being investigated by police after a violent fracas in their Port Melbourne apartment last month during which Carey had to be subdued with capsicum spray after allegedly assaulting officers called to their luxury flat.
The fallen footy star is also being chased by police in the United States after allegedly kicking a Miami police officer called to intervene during a row between the volatile couple last year.
He faces three assault charges from the incident and faces being extradited to the US if he doesn't return to front court.
Now Carey's partner will be required face and judge to explain why she hasn't started chipping away at 100 hours of community work she was sentenced by a Melbourne court for racking up almost $6000 of unpaid parking fines.
Neilson, 26, must front a mediation hearing at Melbourne Magistrate's Court this Friday or risk being jailed.
She was granted permission by the court last July to pay off her debt by doing community work, but has since broken the agreement.
Neilson's parking problems come after reports from South Africa that she fled a tour bus during a safari after another fight with Carey, running into the wild while being pursued by a tour guide worried she'd be attacked by the numerous wild animals living in the Mala Mala National Park.
The couple is currently travelling around the world on a lavish holiday that reportedly cost $60,000.
The couple as been plagued by trouble in the US and Australia, including Carey being locked up by Nevada police after punching a police officer during a violent brawl at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay casino and hotel in 2004.
