Racing officials are expected to announce the lifting of equine influenza (EI) restrictions, allowing horses to travel freely throughout NSW.
NSW Minister for Primary Industries Ian Macdonald is expected to announce the lifting of the restrictions at news conference.
Representatives from Racing NSW and the NSW Department of Primary Industries met earlier on Thursday to discuss the restrictions.
The state is currently divided into colour zones which were established following the horse flu outbreak last August.
Different protocols are in place regarding movement from one zone to another depending on whether the area was affected by EI.
