World Youth Day pilgrims affected by Strong Aussie dollar

13/03/2008 8:00:00 PM.  | Victoria Owens
Fewer than anticipated pilgrims are expected to make the trek for World Youth Day because of the strong Australian dollar.

The decline in the Green Back means some US Catholics won't attend, although organisers say they still expect around 200,000 people.

The NSW State Government says the drop won't affect the event, because there will be less pressure on organisers.
