There are hopes of a brighter future for farmers and lower food prices as drought figures drop across NSW.
Latest statistics show that 40.3 percent of NSW is drought affected, compared to 46.1 last month.
Primary Industries minister Ian Macdonald says it's a great result.
“It’s good news for farmers and it’s also good news for households where over the next few months we can anticipate some dampening of food prices due to the production levels.”
Mr Macdonald also says there's been a drop of 21 percent in marginal drought levels, and coming rains will improve the situation further.
