Man recovering after vicious stabbing

24/03/2008 6:20:00 AM.  | Emily Smith
An investigation is underway after a man was stabbed in Sydney's west.

The man's housemates called an ambulance last night after the 33-year-old returned to his Lalor Park home with a stab wound.

Police say he left his house yesterday to go to the nearby Freeman Road shops, returning four hours later wounded.

He's undergoing treatment in Westmead hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who may know anything about the stabbing.

As a much younger man, I was once left to care for a 16 yo run away. The run away had been abused at home, but was a high achiever, and had been enrolled at university. I had to work, and the boy would do his thing, unsupervised. One evening, after work, the boy came home. I asked where he had been. The idiot had been out buying drugs, and had gotten himself beaten up. People are not aware of the danger they place themselves in when they shop for the illicit.
