Detectives investigating the supply of illegal firearms and drugs have raided homes across Sydney - finding millions of dollars of cash hidden in walls.

In total seven search warrants were executed yesterday on homes at Mt Prichard, St Johns Park, Colo Vale, Bringelly and Fairfield.

The strike force is investigating the supply of illegal firearms and drugs in Sydney - three men have already been charged.

More than 100 officers were involved in yesterday's operation - forced to break into wall cavities to find hidden cash - more than three million dollars has so far been seized.

Assistant Commissioner David Hudson, Commander of the State Crime Command, said the large bundles of cash were suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

“In one home, officers were forced to break into wall cavities inside a home to locate the hidden cash,” Assistant Commissioner Hudson said.

“Today officers are continuing to forensically examine the bundles and count the cash, however, it is estimated more than $2 million was located at a Bringelly house and in excess of $1 million was seized from a home in Mt Pritchard.”

Police also found three rifles, a pistol with a silencer and a large quantity of jewellery.

I feel better with the weaponry in police hands, not drug dealers. A big pat on the back to all police involved, and supporting. Now it is time to pass the ball to the judiciary, and pray that they don't combine with the govt to drop it.
