The feud between Rove McManus and Kyle Sandilands has heated up with rumours circulating McManus may have once had a fling with Sandiland’s fiancée Tamara Jaber.
As well as being a Channel Ten host and radio shock jock Sandilands is Jaber’s manager. Jaber rose to fame on the talent quest program PopStars 2 in 2001, she has since released a number of singles and has recorded with the likes of Snoop Dogg.
Sources close to McManus have told a Sydney newspaper, the TV comedian hooked up with Jaber for a brief period before he began his relationship with Belinda Emmet.
But Kyle has hit out at the rumours saying his feud with McManus began some years ago when he made some comments about wanting to host a late night chat show similar to McManus’ Sunday night show Rove Live.
"I made the comment somewhere that I wanted to do a night-style show and instantly he disliked me,'' Kyle said.
"Then we had a problem for about six months and then he came to an Idol audition once . . . came over to me and said, 'Look, let's clear the air' and 'I don't want to be fighting with you'.
"We sat down and had a lunch and everything was fine and then it all just went to hell again."
The feud sparked up again on Monday when Sandilands badmouthed McManus after finishing and interview with the comedian about his Gold Logie nomination.
Finishing the interview with “Thanks mate, nice to talk to you” Sandilands then went on a rant after he had hung up.
"I lied about the 'Nice to talk to you' bit," Sandilands said.
"(I) hate talking to him … hate his guts.
"I was being civil. But I still don't like him."
Sandilands has since called McManus an “asshole”.
This is not the first time Sandilands, who started his life in showbiz as a shock jock, has courted controversy.
Last year he had a much publicised stoush with Rove regular Dave Hughes last year.
Sandilands said he would punch the Hughes in the neck after Hughes called him a “massive dickhead” at the 2007 Logies awards.
