The Queensland Roar have played down suggestions they intend to lure David Beckham and the LA Galaxy to Brisbane later this month.
Reports circulated by News Limited claimed the American Major League club would be playing a friendly match at Suncorp Stadium, with a deal signed by the Roar earlier this week.
But a Roar spokesperson today revealed no such deal existed, and denied suggestions one is on the cards.
"I've had a meeting with (Roar chief executive) Lawrence Oudendyk this morning and he's said it is not true," she said.
A crowd of 80,000 turned out to see Beckham star for the Galaxy against Sydney FC in a similar match in Sydney last November.
