Kate Ritchie has won the coveted Gold Logie for the second year running - saying her happiness was tinged with sadness that her TV career was over after 20 years.
A stunning Ritchie, wearing a black and white Grecian off-the-shoulder Lisa Ho frock, had been the favourite to take the coveted award.
She beat stiff competition including Neighbours' star Natalie Blair and serial winners Rove McManus and Lisa McCune.
The actor turned radio presenter said she had been very nervous - and excited - even though she's now left Home and Away after two decades.
Ritchie, 29, also picked up the Silver gong for most popular actress.
"Every year I think, oh it's going to get easier. The thing with the Logies, for me, is that every year it's really different," Ritchie said.
"I guess this year ... it's different again for me because, I guess, it's the end of something and the beginning of something else. So, it's a celebration but it's kind of sad as well."
Meanwhile, the ABC's Andrew Denton, Adam Hills and Chris Lilley might have missed out on the Gold, but they were still big winners.
The ABC picked up seven gongs - eight if including satirist John Clarke's induction into the hall of fame.
But Seven won the night with nine gongs, including Ritchie's Gold award.
Nine, Ten and Pay TV picked up two each while SBS won one.
Lilley, who created, wrote and acted in the mockumentary series Summer Heights High, picked up the Silver Logie for most popular actor, while Summer Heights High won most outstanding comedy program.
He also thrilled the crowd, in the form of popular character Mr G.
Other ABC wins included the Choir of Hard Knocks and the Australian Story program on Belinda Emmett, Rove McManus' wife who died in 2006 aged 32 after a long battle with breast cancer.
Seven's wins came largely thanks to Home and Away - which won most popular drama and best new talent in the form of Lincoln Lewis.
Seven's, Kath and Kim - formerly on the ABC - won most popular light entertainment program.
The Bathurst 1000 coverage, Dancing with the Stars, Better Homes and Gardens, and the Garuda plane crash news story were among other winners for Seven.
The late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's daughter Bindi has picked up best new female talent at tonight's Logie Awards.
Irwin, just nine, received the award for her ABC show Bindi: The Jungle Girl.
