White House spokesman Gordon Gundro says one plane is just a start.
“We’ll keep on working on this. We hope this is the beginning of a long line of assistance from the United States to the people of Burma. ”
But some aid work is already underway UNICEF's Carol Stern says they are getting help out to as many as possible.
“We were already on the ground before the disaster struck so we were able to respond immediately.”
“We’re doing what everyone else is doing or are trying to do at this point – basic life sustenance things, water, sanitation, blankets, shelter.”
