Australia will increase its aid to Burma after the original pledge of $3 million was been described as "pathetic" by the Federal Opposition.
Around 100,000 people were feared dead by a cyclone which also left at least 1.5 million people homeless.
The government decided to lift its aid after talks with the United Nations, but it's not known by how much.
Opposition leader Brendan Nelson said Australia should be taking a lead role in co-ordinating the rescue effort.
