A supermarket manager has been bound and bashed by masked robbers during a heist in Melbourne's east.
Police said the manager was closing the Oakleigh South Safeway store at the intersection of Warrigal and North roads at midnight (AEST) when he was confronted by two men in his office.
The bandits, who were wearing balaclavas, punched the victim several times before forcing him up to open a safe, detectives said.
The pair then fled in a light-coloured van along Warrigal Road with an amount of cash and cigarettes.
