Mass nude photo shoot falls short of target

12/05/2008 9:17:00 AM.  |
More than 1,800 nude men and women have posed for US photographer Spencer Tunick in Vienna's Ernst Happel stadium.

Today's photo-shoot, which lasted several hours in warm weather fell short of the symbolic 2,008 participants Tunick had hoped to get, ahead of the Euro 2008 tournament.

The stadium hosts the European football championship final in less than a month.

The subjects of the artwork posed in the stands, before the newly-refitted stadium is presented to the European football association later today.

New York-born Tunick is famous for large-scale nude projects, having created several from Mexico City to the Netherlands.
