Former Liberal Leader Peter Debnam is standing down from the shadow ministry, apparently in protest at the Opposition's support for the power-sale.
Mr Debnam has been serving as shadow energy and infrastructure minister since being rolled from the leadership by opposition leader Barry O’Farrell last year.
He’d been publicly opposing Premier Morris Iemma’s $10 billion power sale which Mr O’Farrell announced he’d back last Thursday after pressure from his party.
It’s believed Mr Debnam tendered his resignation to Mr O’Farrell this morning in protest of that decision.
But it’s understood he intends to stay in parliament as the member for Vaucluse.
