Westlife van crashes on way to concert

13/05/2008 2:56:00 PM.  | AAP
A truck carrying Irish boy band Westlife's gear to a concert in New Zealand rolled early on Tuesday morning, seriously injuring the driver.

Promoters said the band was upset at what had happened to the driver, but Tuesday night's New Plymouth show would go ahead.

The crash happened between Mokau and Piopio, north of New Plymouth, on the North Island about 4.30am (0230 AEST).

Westlife - comprised of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan - was in Australia recently to perform at the Logies award ceremony.

That working Dog doco spoof of a boy band springs to mind.
