The Defence Force has been slammed for leaking allegations that entertainer Tania Zaetta was having sex with Australian soldiers during a tour to Afghanistan.
Zaetta has strenuously denied the claims allegedly made by Angry Anderson, who was also on the 17 day tour.
A document was given to Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon alleging Zaetta had sex with Special Forces while visiting the Australian base in Tarin Kowt, it also said there were photographs and videos to prove it.
Entertainers were warned they would be breaching Defence Force regulations if they fraternised with troops.
The Defence Department is in damage control, admitting they have breached privacy laws by naming the TV personality.
Shadow Minister for Defence, Senator Nick Michin says immediate action must be taken to find out who is directly responsible for leaking the information.
“It is deeply concerning that these unsubstantiated allegations have been publicly aired, especially as Ms Zaetta strenuously denies the rumours,” Senator Minchin said.
“How did these stories reach the newspapers? Mr Fitzgibbon must immediately investigate who in the Department of Defence or his office leaked this story.
"Then he must explain how that person has been dealt with and what will be done to stop such slurs being leaked in the future.”
Anderson, the lead singer of rock band Rose Tattoo is denying he made the complaint, saying he hardly even knows Zaetta.
Zaetta is best known for her role hosting the 90s TV show who Dares Wins, alongside Mike Whitney.
