A Brisbane-based soldier injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq is recovering at a German hospital, the Department of Defence said.
Private Liam Haven was inside a Bushmaster armoured vehicle near An Nasiriyah in the early hours of last Saturday when a roadside bomb exploded, injuring his arm, neck and face.
He has undergone surgery in Germany.
"The 19-year-old is assessed as being in a stable condition," a Defence statement said.
"The nature of his wounds remains medical-in-confidence.
"Private Haven's family has travelled to Germany to be with him and remain by his side."
The soldier will fly home to Australia sometime next month, Defence said.
