Two of Big Brother’s most controversial housemates were punted from the show tonight after a shock double eviction rocked the famous Gold Coast Share house.
Former cult member David bit the dust even after cleverly revealing his intriguing past strategically a fortnight into the show.
The 33-year-old firefighter was raised as a member of the ‘Exclusive Brethren’ an extreme Christian sect that denies members access to TV, radio, and even restaurants.
Sensationally, David escaped the cult as a 19-year-old.
The second housemate evicted was Nathan, who caused controversy after supposedly ‘leading on’ fellow housemate Renee who was love-struck with the 27 year-old physiotherapist.
Nathan, a South Australian who entered the house as an intruder, was voted out even though many in the house acknowledged he was a classic ‘nice guy’.
Nathan's supporters are sure to be disappointed after setting up a slick website to co-ordinate the campaign for the good looking virgin.
Under the new voting system housemates have to choose from three housemates nominated by the public to leave rather than the other way around.
This year’s eviction patterns have challenged the traditional orthodoxy where women have been the first to leave. This year mostly blokes have found themselves in the ‘danger zone’.
The new system has caused a headache for bookies and punters alike according to online bookmakers Lasseters Sportsbook.
“The trend in recent years has been to see a high number of females booted out in the early stages but this year it’s the boys who are dropping like flies,” says Lasseters’ Gerard Daffy.
“The new voting process has been difficult for punters to work out, given the make up of the ‘danger zone’ through the week rarely resembles those up for eviction on a Sunday night.”
Another online bookmaker, Sportingbet Australia, reported that most punters backed Dixie to leave, as they have for three weeks running. While a few backed David to go, no-one at all picked Nathan.
Dubbo girl Renee has shortened in betting to win this year’s series according to Lasseters. She’s quoted at $2.75 to become the third female winner of the reality television program.
On her tail are Japanese-Australian Nobbi at $4.00 and the squeaky voiced Travis at $6.00.
