Mercedes Corby says she's looking forward to being with her sister Schapelle again after her court battle with Channel Seven.

With her legal team by her side, Ms Corby described the outcome in her defamation suit as a major victory for her and her family.

Ms Corby had claimed she was defamed in a series of interviews aired on Today Tonight, featuring her former best friend Jodie Power.

Outside court the 33-year-old said she hopes the program will think hard before they broadcast lies against somebody again.

"It may be just showbiz and ratings for Today Tonight, but it's real people they hurt," she told reporters.

Ms Power wasn't in court this morning, the matter will return next week.

Jason: I didn't see your words of support for the defamation case won against 60 minutes by a person who was incarcerated for 10 years for nothing-Roseanne Beckett (Catt) - Corby was very lucky that she actually did win and perhaps it's good luck to her in that regard but luck it is, it's baffling to see the vast difference between the two cases, one person who has always been a law abiding citizen and accused of a heinous crime and the other whose life has been more than a colourful life gets swift justice - how the scales of justice waiver. Like they say every dog has theire day and one of those dogs is ex-DPP Powers who prosecuted Beckett was later caught out by possessing pornography of minors on his own home computer after returning from a holiday in Thailand!! Blind freddy should have seen the case was flawed from the very start and yet you have a corrupt system in NSW who form part of the collusion by employing hacks like Powers and others. continued:Barry Catt was also apparently paid "victim's compensation"? so where's the money with interest and why isn't he behind bars along with his crooked ex-cop mate and others who were part of the conspiracy and fraud. A case where the people of NSW should be demanding that their taxmoney is repaid and provided to the rightful person. You would have to ask yourself how this could be possible!
