Today it was the turn of Animal Liberation to have a crack at grabbing some skin-based attention – although at about 17 degrees in the city, they may have picked the wrong season.
The ‘End the SufFURing’ campaign features nude models declaring “We’d rather go naked than wear fur”, a line borrowed from PETA’s international campaign that saw top-line celebs pose nude and red paint splashed on furs.
Animal Lib say fur imports into Australia have increased significantly over the past four years and action is needed to stem the flow.
They say animals are beaten, drowned, injected with poison and anally-electrocuted to preserve the appearance of the fur.
But after nude demonstrations in the last few months for everything from anti-bull fighting to skin care promotion, is it possible Sydney may be getting over naked protests?
