Spin king Shane Warne has firmly ruled out any return to Test cricket.

Stuart MacGill's looming retirement, after the second Test in the West Indies, means Australia must give serious thought to who their specialist spinner will be when they tour India in October.

MacGill's departure prompted more speculation Warne would consider a Test comeback, despite it being 17 months since he played the last of his 145 Tests.

But last night Warne, on his return to Australia after leading the Rajasthan Royals to victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL), couldn't be clearer that he wouldn't be coming out of Test cricket retirement.

"I've got no interest at all at this stage. I'm very happily retired, I'm comfortable where I'm at at the moment," he told reporters at Melbourne Airport overnight.

"I won't be playing cricket (except) I've got a couple of sixes tournaments throughout the next 12 months, then IPL next April.

"That'll be it for me."

Warne has an appearance tomorrow for a sponsor in a BMX challenge with several other sports stars, and then will spend the next month with his children Brooke, Summer and Jackson.

In August, he heads for Las Vegas where is contracted to play a handful of celebrity poker tournaments.

He is contracted to the IPL for two more years.
