A 32-year-old man is being questioned by detectives after a raid on the lower North Shore involving the bomb squad.
At about 10.30 this morning, police arrested a 32 year old man at a flat in McPherson Street Cremorne.
Officers from State Crime Command, the Hazmat unit, Police rescue and ambulance officers swarmed around the unit block in Cremorne this morning, knocking down the door of the flat at the bottom of the premises.
They searched the unit and allegedly found two suspicious devices which have since been rendered safe, the unit block was evacuated, but residents have since been allowed to return to their homes.
The place was evacuated and neighbours say two large, dark grey-brown packages were carried out.
It is believed officers also checked under several cars nearby.
Caroline Mann, who lives a few doors down, witnessed the emergency crews' arrival.
"Quite a commotion, yes, and quite scary."
