The Dalai Lama says he has taken no offence at Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's decision not to meet him.

Immigration Minister Chris Evans will meet the Buddhist leader, as Mr Rudd is overseas.

His Holiness says he is not here for political reasons and therefore was not expecting a meeting.

“If I have a certain political agenda to discuss with the Prime Minister or any leader then of course if I miss the opportunity then certainly I feel uncomfortable,” he said.

“But since I have no political agenda – there’s no problem.”

His Holiness was also questioned on Hollywood actress Sharon Stone, and her recent controversial comments in which she claimed to be good friends with him, and attributed the Sichuan earthquake to 'karma'.

"Every event is due to karma," he said.

"So the tragedy on Tibet, tragedy in Burma, tragedy in China - all this is karmic.

"But her [Stone's] particular sort of comment - that I don't know."

Honestly, we were all thinking the same thing, i heard plenty of people say the same thing before sharron stone said it, so she said, so what who cares. Don't act like you didn't think it either. I'm not saying that it wasn't tragic, just saying....

Yep, you are 100% right. Hurricane Katrina and Tornado Alley and 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in SF were definitely karmic, silly me. I guess, what goes round comes round eh?

Amazing, Dalai Lama backed Sharon Stone's karma claim. In a Buddhist karma law, divine Buddha determines who to be punished and praised. A living Buddha reports people’s behaviors to the divine Buddha. Wrong info was passed and the quake occurred in the Aba Tibetan & Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan. Many Tibetan died. If this is the karma as she claimed (based on the insider info from her good friend?), it is also bad to the Tibetans. Now, he backed her claim.

I suppose it may be that we should seldom be so concerned about what other people say, rather what we ourselves allow our minds to think.
