An armed man trying to hold up a supermarket in inner Sydney has got more than he bargained for, with staff staging a citizen's arrest.
The man is accused of entering the supermarket on Booth Street at Annandale around eight o'clock last night - threatening staff with a replica handgun.
He demanded money - but the workers chased him out of the shop and down the street - tackling him to the ground.
They held him there until off-duty police officers arrived and arrested him.
The 20-year-old Tamworth man has been charged with being armed with intent to rob.
He'll face Newtown local court today.
