Children between six months and six years now have their very own version on YouTube – Totlol.com.

The video sharing site for tots was launched in May and since then has been receiving thousands of visitors a day.

Like YouTube, Totlol.com allows parents to share educational, cute or comic videos with the new generation of net-savvy toddlers.

The founder of Totlol.com, 38-year-old American Ron Ilan, says he developed the project because his three-year-old son was curious about the grown-up world of computers.

"I found myself with a boy that wants to know what daddy does on the computer all day," he said.

"There has to be something other than Barney [the dinosaur].”

Parents can now join to become “scouts” where they scour YouTube for kiddie-friendly video.
