Socceroos captain Harry Kewell is set to sign for Italian Serie A side AS Roma.
Kewell, in Sydney for Australia's World Cup qualifying match against China on Sunday, is expected to announce the move shortly according to Fairfax newspapers.
Fairfax reported that Newcastle Jets football director Remo Nogarotto acted as an intermediary to secure the deal.
AS Roma have been runners-up in the Serie A for the last three seasons.
Player agent Bernie Mandic refused to confirm or deny a deal had been done.
"I have no comment in regards to Harry whatsoever," Mandic told AAP.
"We never negotiate through the media.
"I will leave it for the clubs that are interested in Harry to speak about it."
Kewell was let go by English Premier League club Liverpool after a disappointing, injury-filled five-year stint.
