Peter Costello reconsidering political career

21/06/2008 11:45:00 AM.  | Olivia Suzanski
Peter Costello is believed to be once again reconsidering his political career, gaining the full support of big business.

Business leaders have reportedly lobbied the former Treasurer in recent weeks, pledging their support for a renewed leadership push.

Mr Costello now faces a decision of whether to challenge Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson, which could see him run at the next Federal election.

The Australian Liberal party has such great talent on their front bench. Peter Costello back on the front bench again would be part of the new dream team for the Liberals. The sooner the better. Howard and Costello took Australia from the depths of disaster to fantastic heights in 10 years, and we need this new dream team to clean up the Labor mess. What we have with Labor is a joke.

During question time Rudd, Swan and company have been taunting Peter Costello. The man has been sitting quietly, minding his own business, but the Labor people keep referring to so called problems attributable to the Member for Higgins- wouldn't it be nice if we could have the kind of problems that we had during the Howard years. If the Party agrees and he does come back he will be more than a match for Rudd and Co. they would wish that they would have left him alone.

So, the offers from private enterprise weren't there after all, no one wanted the architect of inflation to work for them. So now he is going to slink back, Malcontent Spinbull must be depressed, Libs are that dumb they'll go for Costello because they still believe the lies about his economic genius, if you like inflation! Brenguns days are numbered, he should leave now, he is useless and not wanted. With Costello in charge the Libs will never win the next election, great stuff.

Graeme, Run Rabbit Run. Go shoot a few camels today mate after your XXXX breakfast. If Costello is back, he will have many significant supporters from all walks of life. Costello and Howard did more for the man on the street than Labor has ever done in 30 years, Your comments about no one wanting to employ Costello is disgusting. Costello has has done more for this country economically than you are prepared to give credit for.

When they were booted out of power Costello ran away like a spoiled child. Not the actions you want in a National Leader. Don't forget that they got the boot partly because we were promised that runaway crybaby Pete would replace Howard the Coward. As for what he has done for the country, higher inflation, higher interest rates and petrol going through the roof. Oh yeah, welfare and tax breaks for the rich. With hopeless Costello in charge Labor will be in power forever. Too much Howard stench.

Henderson darling. Costello was/is a great deal smarter than you. He has quietly sat on the back benches. He acknowledged that the country had said that they didn't like his policies (at that time when Rudd promised everything that was undeliverable). IF he decides to help the Country again, he will do it AT THE RIGHT TIME for the Liberals. He won't do it at a timing proposed by the media. Rudd - look out!

This will be like awakening a sleeping giant. He is just sitting there having a well deserved rest, giving these inept fools enough rope to hang themselves. When the time is right, he will stand up and pull the handle of the gallows. To re hash what Australias most famous bank robber once said "Well may we say God save the Queen; because nothing will save the Australian ALP".

If I were given the chance of working with a Rudd or a Costello, I would take a Costello EVERY TIME. Rudd would not even get past first base. If I were in trouble - it would be someone tough like Costello that I'd want on my team NOT a WIMP like Rudd. Parliament would be a better place if there were a Costello in the main game. Watch out mr Sheen....life ain't going to get any easier for you .....OR SWAN!

Bolts, comparing Costello against the likes of Rudd and Swan is an insult to Costello. If Costello is the leader of the nation, Rudd will only deserve to be his shoe shiner and Swan can only be his toilet cleaner.

The sooner he gets back the better. This guy leaves anyone in the Labor Party for dead. What more can you expect from someone who learnt from the master in John Howard. He's been sitting back and laughing no doubt with rising everything since Dudd and Co. forged their way into power. The young people who only ever knew what it was like to live in a Howard/Costello led country and thought it was so tough are all having second thoughts now with everything going up and up. Hurry up Peter, please.
