A Sydney truck driver will appear in court next month accused of running down another motorist in a road rage attack.

The 60-year-old has been released on condition bail accused of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving and failing to stop and render assistance.

Police allege he was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a prime mover on Warringah road at Frenchs Forest yesterday afternoon.

Both vehicles pulled over near the Wakehurst Parkway intersection - the 37-year-old driver getting out and trying to open the truck's door.

Police allege the vehicle accelerated forward - trapping the man - he's undergone surgery for internal injuries.

The 60-year-old is accused of fleeing - police arresting him a short time later.

He's been granted conditional bail to appear in court next month.
