Sydney CBD undergoes the tap water challenge

26/06/2008 9:25:00 AM.  | Heidi Tiltins
Sydney's tap water and the bottled variety will go head to head this morning, as workers are asked whether they can actually tell the difference.

There will be a mass taste test in Sydney’s Martin Place this morning, as Water Minister Nathan Rees tries to highlight the value for money of our drinking water.

Despite being less than half a cent per litre, tap water is often overlooked for the bottled variety.

The minister says most people won’t be able to tell the difference

He says recent tests have shown people prefer tap water anyway, calling on the community to consider refilling reusable bottles at home.
