Calls to deny Tyson entry to Australia

3/07/2008 12:15:00 PM.  |
Crime victims are demanding former champion boxer and convicted rapist Mike Tyson be banned from entering Australia, to take part in a poker tournament at Melbourne's Crown Casino.

The 42-year-old is reportedly planning to travel to Melbourne in January for the $10 million Aussie Millions Poker Championships.

News Limited papers report the ex-US heavyweight champ has finalised a deal with Crown to appear in the tournament.

But Crime Victims Support Association president Noel McNamara says Tyson should be denied a visa to enter the country.

He's told the papers, an Australian with a similar record wouldn't get into the United States.

Federal Immigration Minister Chris Evans' office says the minister won't speculate on an individual's visa application.

So we have lower moral values than the US. Lets see the Australian Foreign Minister Smith, stand up and be counted on this one, and say NO. I do not think so, maybe Rudd will put hom on one of committees. An Australian with a criminal record is not be allowed into the US, and neither should Mike Tyson be allowed to come to Australia, he is a thug, one only has to look at the tattoos to see what low self esteem he has.
