Bones, believed to be human, have been found at a popular Victorian coastal town beach.
Police said a woman walking along the beach at Surfies Point, on Phillip Island, found the remains about noon (AEST).
Senior Constable Sharon Darcy said they were near the water's edge and appeared to have been washed up on the beach.
She said investigations would focus on links to anyone reported missing in the area.
The bones will be taken to the Coroner's Court for forensic testing.
