Odds are Iemma's washed up

9/07/2008 5:35:00 PM.  | Heidi Tiltins with Richard Maxton
There appears to have been a surge in support for Water Minister Nathan Rees to become NSW's next premier, with bookmakers showing he is leading over Morris Iemma.

Sportingbet Australia has opened the books this afternoon, asking punters who they believe will be leading NSW come January 1 next year.

The news is not good for Morris Iemma. Despite holding a lead earlier on, his odds have bounced from $1.65 to $2.25.

He has slipped behind Water Minister Nathan Rees who is on $1.80.

Mr Iemma himself has admitted moves are underway to unseat him after the power privatisation ordeal, poor polling and the Iguana Gate scandal.

Deputy premier John Watkins is in third place at $3.00.

Just do us all a favor Mr Iemma and call a fresh election and let the public see who is the right man for the job, personally I dont have faith in anyone from the labor party or the liberals, maybe give Fred Nile ago he couldn't be any worse
