Crunch time for Mini-Me sex tape attorneys

15/07/2008 2:00:00 PM.  |

Time is nearly up for attorneys protecting the release of a sex tape featuring Verne Troyer – best known as “Mini-Me” from the Austin Powers series.

A temporary restraining order against SugarDVD and porn broker Kevin Blatt, barring the sale of the controversial tape, expires on Monday.

Troyer’s attorneys want an extra week added to the order, to continue negotiations with the company.

The actor sued the distributor – and also filed suit against celebrity gossip site TMZ for displaying portions of the video without prior consent.

Troyer said that the tape had been stolen from his house, but the celebrity website produced a statement by then-girlfriend Ranae Shrider, saying she had authorized part of its release.
