Dads fear workplace discrimination

It is claimed many Australian fathers are discriminated against in the workplace environment.

A new report shows many men are finding it difficult to engage in family duties due to their ongoing perception as the "bread winner" at work.

Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick has told 2GB's Philip Clark many dads feel they are discriminated against more so than their wives.

"They want to access family friendly work conditions as well and many of them told me that they were finding it harder than their female colleagues.

"They were saying things like: 'Well if I ask for a flexible work arrangement it's like I'm not a serious player'."

What planet did Elizabeth Broderick evolve from? The average male worker knows full well that he would be wasting his time to think he could get any time off unless there was a dramatic downtime in work at that time. Another legacy of the defunct union movement.
