Police are hunting four men and two women who allegedly bashed two Western Samoan pilgrims at Homebush in Sydney's west.

Police say the two World Youth Day pilgrims, aged 31 and 25, were walking along Dawn Fraser Drive outside the Brewery Hotel when they were bashed and robbed by the six offenders – all aged in their 20s.

Although the 31-year-old managed to escape with a bruised eye socket, the younger man suffered a fractured jaw and left eye socket, a severe upper lip cut and numerous loose teeth.

He managed to make his way to Olympic Park Railway Station where he caught the train to Lidcome.

He was then assisted by police and taken to Auburn Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Police are reviewing security footage and are seeking information about a late model black dual-cab utility the attackers fled in, which is possibly a Holden Rodeo.
