Man shot after attack near Obama's hotel in Jerusalem

23/07/2008 10:16:00 AM.  |
A 22-year-old Palestinian has been shot to death after ramming a construction vehicle into cars and a bus in Jerusalem wounding four people.

This comes at a time when security is meant to be incredibility tight in Jerusalem.

It happened close to a hotel where British Prime Minister Gordon Brown was staying on Monday, and where the US Presidential candidate Barack Obama is arriving at today.

On arrival to Israel, Obama condemned the attack which took place near the historic King David Hotel.

He has arrived in Israel for meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, after pledging to work for peace as soon as he takes office.

In Jordan before flying to Israel, he said he would plunge into Mideast peacemaking, but cautioned as unrealistic expectations that a US president alone can suddenly bring about peace in this region.
