Brisbane have scored a much needed 18-12 NRL win over Cronulla at Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane utility Greg Eastwood scored the match-winning try in the 72nd minute but tries to Sharks duo Brett Kearney (64th minute) and Grant Millington (78th minute) made Broncos fans sweat out a tense final few minutes.

It was an unhappy night for the Sharks with utility Greg Bird failing in a late bid to play and captain Paul Gallen place on report by referee Shayne Hayne for a tackle on Brisbane's David Stagg in the 54th minute.

Gallen, who was suspended earlier in the season and reported last week for a high tackle against the Knights, took Stagg head-on but appeared to collect him in the head.

Brisbane led 8-0 after a defence dominated first half after Denan Kemp grabbed his 13th try of the season off an Eastwood chip kick to his right wing.

The Broncos slipped out to a 14-0 lead after forward Sam Thaiday crossed.

BRISBANE 18 (G Eastwood D Kemp S Thaiday tries M Ennis 3 goals) bt CRONULLA 12 (B Kearney G Millington tries L Covell 2 goals) at Suncorp Stadium. Referee: S Hayne. Crowd: 27,905.

GO YOU GOOD THINGS!! :) Broncs' 2 players down, get up and do the job. I was wondering why Ricky was pasting the Storm when he was coming up against the BRONC'S? Poor lad must have been ahead of himself, Oh well, thanks Melb for distracting him. No big job, Cronulla, no real threat, just as dirty as any team too.. Go the Bronco's!! :) Ye HAH!...hey the ref was actually making decisions without the clown in the box?? Amazing?? Thought they had to "GET SOME NUTS" before they could do that....LOL
