Melissa Batten, the former Belinda Neal staffer who dobbed her boss in on national television for pressuring her to write a false stat dec, is still appearing front-and-centre in Ms Neal’s promotional material.
A leaflet picked up at the Labor MP’s office by a LIVENEWS.com.au reader, shows Ms Neal casually strolling through a supermarket aisle with what appears to be a local – but is in fact Ms Batten.
The picture, which appears in a leaflet that was still being distributed as late as yesterday afternoon, shows Ms Neal and her former left-hand woman shopping under the headline “Belinda Neal and Kevin Rudd help with cost of living expenses.”
“Belinda Neal understands the pressures on working families,” it begins.
In late June Melissa Batten appeared on A Current Affair claiming Ms Neal pressured her to lie on a statutory declaration by omitting key details of what happened during the night of the now infamous Iguana Joe’s nightclub incident.
