Stoner announces he won't run for Vaile's old seat

28/07/2008 3:00:00 PM.  | Jessica Campanaro
NSW Nationals Leader Andrew Stoner has announced he won’t be quitting State politics to run for the Federal seat of Lyne.

A by-election date hasn't yet been set for the electorate, which falls vacant from the retiring Mark Vaile.

But Mr Stoner says his name won't be on the ballot.

“I will not be seeking pre-selection for the Nationals for the seat of Lyne,” he said.

“In all conscious, I cannot stand by and allow the Iemma Labor government to continue to so badly mismanage the affairs of New South Wales.”
