Three men have been charged after allegedly trying to install a skimming device at an ATM in Sydney's east.
The men were spotted at the automatic teller machine in Lamrock Avenue at Bondi by members of the public shortly after midnight (AEST) Monday, police said.
Officers arrested the men, allegedly seizing tools including screwdrivers and power drills.
Several holes had been drilled into the ATM, police said.
The men were taken to Waverley Police Station for questioning.
A 32-year-old Redfern man was later charged with several offences, including being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, attempting to obtain benefit by deception and malicious damage.
He was refused bail and will appear in Waverley Local Court on Tuesday.
A 38-year-old Leichhardt man and a 30-year-old Rosebery man were each charged with malicious damage and attempting to obtain benefit by deception.
The Leichhardt man will also appear in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday, while the Rosebery man was granted conditional bail and was expected to appear in Waverley Local Court on August 12.
