Fresh from the flatulence filled flop of The Love Guru, comedian Mike Myers has reportedly started work writing the fourth film in the Austin Powers series.
While no deal has officially been put in place, studio New Line has been chomping at the bit to get the movie underway, despite the massive critical and commercial failure of The Love Guru.
Reports are suggesting the new film will take a closer look at arch-villain Dr. Evil opposed to the actual character of the films name, The International Man Of Mystery, Austin Powers.
They also say that Mike will be continuing to work with Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers 3: Goldmember co-writer Mike McCullers.
According to the reports Myers originally wanted to incorporate the character of The Love Guru into the first Austin Powers film but decided to write it out of the series.
Myers caused a stir recently when engaging in “diva-esque” demands when promoting The Love Guru on Conan O’Brien – including requesting hard to find items like twizzlers and raspberry seltzer, with some suggesting the once respected comedian has lost his comedic edge.
