NSW MPs have been ordered to go on a charm offensive during the Olympics to regain support in the wake of the Wollongong council corruption scandal and Iguanagate.
The tactic has been revealed in two emails mistakenly sent to journalists by the office of Ports Minister Joe Tripodi.
Opposition leader Barry O'Farrell has told 2GB’s Jason Morrison what the government should be focused on is fixing the state.
“If you actually try and deliver what you promised, if you try and address people’s concerns I think you actually need to engage in much less spin, much less pretence in the world than you do if you’re a government like the Iemma government,” he said.
“Morris Iemma needs to get the message: If he wants to improve his standings in the polls start fixing the problems in New South Wales – stop the spinning.”
