Ford driver Will Davison is on track for his second round victory of the year after winning an incident-marred race two at round eight of the V8 Supercar championship at Winton today.
Davison finished second in race one to Ford driver Jamie Whincup yesterday, and today beat Ford's Mark Winterbottom and Holden's Garth Tander in race two.
The Jim Beam Racing driver now holds a comfortable overall round lead and pole position going into the deciding race three this afternoon.
But series leader Winterbottom was the biggest winner after a dreadful race one, rising from 21st on the grid to chase Davison home and help maintain his overall championship lead.
A clever pit stop strategy, a fast car and a huge crash on the opening lap which took out Holden drivers Mark Skaife, Russell Ingall, Jason Richards and Michael Caruso by turn two all helped Winterbottom lift his position.
Winterbottom's Ford Performance Racing teammate Steven Richards was in the middle of the carnage.
His car made contact with both Jason Richards and Ingall, and as both their cars crashed out, their Ford rival was able to stay on the track.
Jason Richards spun in front of the pack, and miraculously only Caruso collected him.
Ingall had one of his wheels ripped off as he veered off the track in the opposite direction.
And Skaife, who was attempting to avoid the incident, also went cross-country and ploughed into a fence, ending his race.
None of the drivers were hurt.
Stewards are investigating the crash.
