Four foreigners have been arrested outside Beijing’s national stadium after protesting against China's treatment of Tibet.
The activists, believed to be from Britain and the United States, put up two huge banners outside the iconic Bird’s Nest, which read ‘Tibet will be free’.
An accompanying sign read 'One world, one dream, free Tibet.'
The protesters belonged to the group Students for a Free Tibet, which claims the signs were up for an hour before Chinese police pulled them down.
Olympic organisers have condemned the actions, warning foreigners to obey the law.
Meantime, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has confirmed he’ll be addressing human rights issues with the Chinese government when he arrives in Beijing tomorrow.
