Students expelled over private school 'huffing' scandal

A number of students have been expelled from Sydney's Pymble Ladies College after they were allegedly caught inhaling aerosols.

The five students were reportedly in years seven to nine at the exclusive North Shore private school.

Principal Vicki Waters declined to comment on any expulsions, but said the health and well-being of students was paramount.

"Pymble Ladies’ College takes seriously any issue that has the potential to harm the health and well-being of its students."

Why just boot em out.They are young and have made a stupid mistake.How can the school just wash their hands of these kids and say ,see ya.I also made a mistake like that at school and was given the same treatment,there was no questions, just get out. From a school of this standing and religious commitment,shouldn't they show some compasion and understanding about a stupid descisions made by some imature kids.

This is ridiculous the amount of contraversy this event has caused, not to mention the effect of the expulsions on four girls lives, this will effect them for the rest of their lives on a silly decision they have made when so young. Please allow thought to the girls that have just lost their future and all respect from their past school. And please remember to shine light on the extremities this punishment has effected their future. Thankyou

That's why our daughter no longer goes to Pymble ladies College, picked that one coming several years ago....This is not an isolated event, hopefuy the school will take their head out of the the sand.

Tim Sprouster, if you did drugs and I was in charge of the school you'd be out the door too. Australia taking a soft approach to criminals is why there are SO MANY CRIMINALS. Sniffing paint/petrol/aerosol belongs in two areas, Northern Territory and Redfern.

Jay Unknown, Your a misery. This doesnt belong in any community, let alone REDFERN/Nth Territory. One day you'll extract your head from your A** and see that it is actually everywhere. While i feel the school could have gone about dealing with this in a better way, The kids have to get on with the outcome given. I hope the parents can get the girls back on track, meaning finding the root cause of the derailment. Carol, mistakes of growing up are just that, they keep happening too, we never grow
