A series of infrastructure projects could come to a halt over fears they'll cause chaos across Sydney's CBD.
More than $140 billion has been set aside for the projects aimed at boosting Sydney's transport, retail and business sectors.
But before the work has even begun the Premier is urgently seeking an audit of the plans amid fears they'll create a chaotic building boom throughout the CBD.
Among the major plans that will likely bring the city to a halt are track work at St James, Wynyard and Martin Place stations and the redevelopment of Pitt St Mall, Barangaroo and the CUB site on Broadway.
Planning Minister Frank Sartor says he's confident all will go ahead regardless.
“I’m personally confident that all these projects will happen, but it’s just worth having a close look at staging of them to make sure all the good news is good news and we’re not in the meantime disrupting the city…”
