Police are launching a new crackdown on Sydney’s train network.
During the last operation Vision Four, police arrested 500 people on trains for anti-social and criminal behaviour.
A new crackdown begins this weekend – there’ll be more officers patrolling trains, and stations, and greater use of CCTV cameras.
Police Minister David Campbell says he’s confident the operations are making our rail systems work safer.
Mr Campbell says they've had success with these operations in the past.
“We know from the three previous Vision operations that people have been apprehended for perhaps not having a ticket…”
But CityRail admits that despite the rise in arrests, the incidents of graffiti and vandalism on trains is increasing.
